Pastor Tina Scheuller

Pastor Tina Scheuller has been serving as pastor at Arise in Christ since February, 2023, first as the temporary Sunday-to-Sunday pastor and now as the permanent part-time pastor.  She loves the caring and supportive atmosphere at the congregation and is thrilled to be calling AIC her church home.  “Pastor Tina” grew up in Dayton, then left the area for over twenty years for college, seminary, and the early years of ministry and family life.  She has lived everywhere from Nashville, Tennessee to Green Bay, Wisconsin, and from southwest Minnesota to Tuebingen, Germany.  Her congregational ministries have been part-time and full-time, rural, suburban, and urban, as a solo pastor and as a part of a team.  Along the way, she married Pastor Kevin Scheuller, and they now have three high-school and college-aged children and two dogs, who keep them busy and young at heart.  When Pastor Tina isn’t pastoring or parenting, she sneaks time to watch Marvel and Star Wars universe content, upgrades the container garden on their back deck, and enjoys the rich diversity of cultural festivals and foods Dayton has to offer.  She’s working on being an ever-more-effective ally for the LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, and disabled communities, and tries to make church a welcoming place for everyone.  Outside of Sunday mornings, you’re more likely to see her in jeans and hiking boots rather than a clergy shirt, because life is too short to wear uncomfortable clothes if you don’t have to.  She would love to meet you, hear your story, and remind you that God loves you and there’s a place for you at Arise in Christ if you want it!
